Rainbow Maldonado serves as the Senior Advancement Officer for the Oregon Region at United Way of the Blue Mountains. A longtime member of the United Way family, Rainbow brings more than 30 years of experience in community leadership, nonprofit management, and advocacy.
Guided by a lifelong calling to serve others, Rainbow is deeply committed to United Way’s mission to strengthen local resilience, advance health, promote youth opportunities, and enhance financial security so all communities can thrive. Her professional background includes leadership roles across the nonprofit and business sectors, as well as founding and leading her own nonprofit organization, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Rainbow holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with an emphasis in Advocacy from Idaho State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration, focusing on State and Local Nonprofit Administration. She resides in Pendleton, Oregon, with her husband and enjoys exploring the outdoors, supporting her children at their collegiate soccer games, and spending time with her growing family—including her first grandchild.
In her role, Rainbow supports advancement efforts across Umatilla, Morrow, Union, Baker, and Wallowa counties, working to build stronger, healthier communities throughout the region.
