Education

Educational attainment is critical to generating economic opportunity and building a vibrant community. United Way of the Blue Mountains and Community Council volunteers have come together to support the establishment of a regional Educational Attainment Alliance.  The goal of the alliance is to improve educational attainment while also addressing issues of access, equity, and quality throughout the region, which includes Columbia and Walla Walla counties, and the Milton-Freewater area.

Blue Mountain Region Long-Term Recovery Group

The Blue Mountain Long-Term Recovery Group (BMLTRG) was assembled in the wake of the February 2020 floods to reflect a similar structure of existing long-term disaster recovery groups. While the current focus is on supporting individuals and families to recover from flood-related damage, the group is also intended to provide collaborative preparation for any future disasters that may impact the region.
